Pirates chosen
to all-conference squad

After winning their second consecutive Missouri Class
3A state championship, nearly all of the Platte County
Pirate starters received Midland Empire Conference All-Conference
status in football.
Those who received first team all-conference honors include
seniors: Robbie Campbell, quarterback; Zach Sherman, running
back; David Poolman, wide receiver; Tyler Warner, offensive
line; Joe Bullock, offensive line; and Chase Verdoorn,
defensive back; and juniors Cory Williams, tight end;
Travis Frogge, defensive line; Matt Prout, defensive line;
Aaron Bernard, defensive line; Sean OConnor, linebacker;
and Nick Jaros, kicker and defensive back.
Second team all-conference honors went to seniors Nathan
Daniel and Charles Grutzmacher, both offensive linemen.
All-conference honorable mention monors were awarded
to junior long snapper Zach Hibdon for Special Teams.
The Pirate Football Banquet will be held Wednesday, Dec.
12, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym. K and S Construction
will provide food for the banquet. All family, friends,
and Pirate fans are welcomed to attend.
The Platte County football team, along with West Platte
and Blue Springs, will be recognized before the Kansas
City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers football game on Sunday,
Dec. 23.
Tickets to watch the game and honor the Pirates may be
purchased at the high school office for $20 per ticket.
There are a limited number of tickets, so first come,
first served does apply.
