After suffering from a season plagued by rained out ball
games, a 10-9 record, the Platte County Lady Pirate softball
team still had multiple players that were awarded All-Midland
Empire Conference Awards.
Senior Samantha Ward received First Team All-Conference
honors for her roll as pitcher throughout the past season.
The only other Lady Pirate to receive First Team All-Conference
recognition was sophomore Hillary Tanck for utility infielder.
Seniors Devin McCray and Jamie Horst, and sophomore Heather
Tanck all received Second Team All-Conference honors.
McCray earned the award for first baseman; Horst received
recognition for her roll at shortstop; and Tanck was given
the honors for her play in the outfield.
Seniors Jessica Lackey and Jeanna Prather concluded the
list of the Lady Pirates who received All-Conference honors.
Lackey earned Honorable Mention for catcher while Prather
received Honorable Mention status for third baseman.
Platte County tied for third overall in conference action.
They concluded their season with a 4-2 conference record.
