Basketball squad drops to 4-11 1/17/2002
The Platte County Pirate boys’ basketball team took part in the 35th annual Kearney Tournament. In the first game of the tournament, the Pirates took on Lafayette. Lafayette took an early 17-14 lead after the first quarter of action. As the game entered halftime, Lafayette had gained a six-point advantage after outscoring the Pirates 14-11 in the second quarter. More on this story

Pirate wrestling team rolls past Cameron 61-18 1/17/2002
The Platte County Pirate wrestling team knocked off its conference rival Cameron Dragons last Tuesday. The Pirates won the dual at Cameron by a score of 61-18. The Pirates started the night out winning their first match, setting the pace for the rest of the night. Senior Brett Rolofson won the 103-pound match by a pin fall that came 1:30 into the match. Consolation trophy won by Lady Pirates 1/17/2002
The Lady Pirate basketball team was able to bring home the consolation trophy from the 35th annual Kearney Tournament. The Lady Pirates suffered a tough break in the first round of the tournament, when they had to face the second seeded Ray-Pec Panthers. The Panthers took an early 11-8 lead and the Panthers were able to increase their lead by outscoring the Lady Pirates 17-7 in the second quarter. More on this story
