Welcome to Chiefs Chatters newest
featureThe Zone Blitz. Plenty of information delivered
from various angles, all in a blitz package.
Chiefs Zone Blitz
-The Chiefs were so short on receivers this
week that they used a few defensive backs to run routes
in practice. That cant help Trent Greens timing
with his receivers.
To make matters worse the Steelers
defense is nearly impossible to run against. They are
giving up only 3 yards per carry.
WR Derrick Alexander is likely out.
This time its his back. Look for Minnis and Thomas
to start this Sunday.
TE Mikhael Ricks will see more action
in the receiving package with Alexander on the sideline.
Both as a receiver and in the deuce two TE
package.
KR Dante Hall is also banged up. Out
for this weekend...probably longer.
That gives the Chiefs Mike Cloud to
return kick-offs, Larry Parker will return punts.
FB Tony Richardson is out for at least
another week. Jermaine Williams gets his second straight
start.
Chiefs are 0-2 at home this season.
The team hasnt started off 0-3 at Arrowhead since
1980.
Steelers Zone Blitz-
The Steelers have considerably cut
their playbook this season. The basic package is Bettis
running the ball and Kordell Stewart throwing short passes.
Stewart is still more dangerous with
his feet than his arm.
Steelers ground game is producing
188 yards per game rushing but they only throw for 146.3
yards per game.
The Steelers have zero TD passes,
and are only 1 of 8 in the red zone.
Steelers defense is ranked third in
the league behind only Baltimore and Green Bay.
Steelers defense have only given up
10 total points in the last two games.
When Pittsburgh does throw the ball
look for it to go to WR Hines Ward who leads the Steelers
with 24 catches.
Bettis has 4 100-yard rushing games
versus the Chiefs.
