R-3 again presented
'Award of Distinction'

The Platte R-3 school district was accorded the
Award of Distinction for High Performance, it
was announced at Thursday night's meeting of the
board of education. The district was one of only
176 out of 524 districts in the state to earn
the distinction.
The award is presented to districts that meet
at least 11 of the 12 standards on their annual
performance reviews. The standards measure performance
based on the Missouri Assessment Program test,
reading scores, the ACT, advanced courses, vocational
courses, college placement, vocational placement,
dropout rates and attendance.
"Were honored, said R-3 Superintendent
Dr. Mark Harpst. Its the highest honor
a school district can receive in the state of
Missouri.
The annual performance report is part of the
Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP), which
evaluates school districts on a five-year cycle.
This is the fourth year in a row that Platte County
R-3 has earned the award.
