Candidates
This years Platte County Fair Queen
contestants are Crystal Anderson, Erin Hardesty, Hannah
Porter, Paige Hiatt, Elizabeth Wilcox, and Sarah Mathews.
The preliminary contest was held July 10. The six contestants
will have to wait until July 23, opening night of the
fair, before a queen is crowned. A complete schedule
of events is located in this weeks edition of
The Landmark. Candidates: Crystal Anderson, 18, is the
daughter of Richard and Susan Anderson. She is a 2003
Platte County R-3 High School graduate. Anderson plans
on attending Northwest Missouri State University in
the fall. She is sponsored by Shields Manor Bistro.
Erin Hardesty, 19, is the daughter of Steve and Sandy
Hardesty. She is a 2002 Platte County R-3 graduate.
She attends Central Missouri State University. She is
sponsored by Hardesty Alignment. Hannah Porter, 18,
is the daughter of Jimmy and Carol Porter. She is a
graduate of West Platte R-2 High School. She will attend
Northwest Missouri State University. She is sponsored
by Ida Cox. Paige Hiatt, 18, is the daughter of Burton
and Bobbi Hiatt. She is a 2003 West Platte High School
graduate. She plans to attend Northwest Missouri State
University. Hiatt is sponsored by Miller Donnelli Agency.
Elizabeth Wilcox, 19, is the daughter of Ann and Dennis
Wilcox. She is a 2003 graduate of Park Hill South High
School. She will attend Maple Woods Community College
in the fall. She is sponsored by Michael Suvanto. Sarah
Mathews, 17, is the daughter of John and Lorianne Mathews.
She is a senior at West Platte High School. She is sponsored
by Hill Brothers Construction.
