U.S. Attorney Todd
Graves will be roasted
Todd Graves, U.S. Attorney for the Western District
of Missouri, will be the guest of honor and subject of
a celebrity roast by the Platte County Optimist Club on
Saturday, March 22.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, a dinner
at 7 p.m. and the program at 8 p.m. in the ballroom at
the Airport Hilton Hotel in Kansas Citys Northland.
Graves was elected Platte County Prosecutor in 1994
and reelected in 1998. He assumed the responsibilities
of U.S. Attorney after his appointment by President George
Bush in 2001. Roasters will include Jeff Roe, a member
of Congressman Sam Graves Washington staff; Ivan
Foley, editor of The Landmark Newspaper; and Eric Zahnd,
current Platte County Prosecuting Attorney.
Betty Knight, presiding commissioner of Platte County,
will serve as the master of ceremonies.
The event is an annual fundraiser for the Optimist Clubs
programs for children. Tickets for the benefit are $40
per person, $70 per couple and reservations must be received
no later than March 19. Silver sponsorships, which include
seating for two, are available for $100. Gold sponsorships,
with seats for 10, are available for $400.
