The trial date for Chrysta Mize, accused of conspiring
to kill her ex-husband and to collect on a forged life
insurance policy, has been pushed back to Dec. 2 in Platte
County Circuit Court.
Platte County Prosecutor Tammy Glick said the defense
asked for a delay in the case.
Originally, the trial for Mize, 28, had been scheduled
for Aug. 12.
Pretrial motions will now be heard Nov. 21. Mize is free
on $100,000 bond that was posted on July 11.
Thad Mize was shot to death Dec. 12 on a Kansas City,
North road.
Chrysta Mize's parents, Jimmy and Brenda Williams, await
trial on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal
action in the case.
Glick said the prosecution is prepared to go to trial
against Jimmy Williams on Sept. 3. It is not yet known
whether the defense will seek a continuance that would
delay his trial.
