No more changes planned.
That was the word this week from the regional head of
the University of Missouri Extension Office in Platte
County, after the recent elimination of two office staff
positions.
As reported in last week's issue of The Landmark, several
residents voiced concerns at a special meeting of the
Extension Council over the elimination of the positions
of bookkeeper/office assistant formerly held by Rose Marie
Lawrence and Sandra Cox.
According to Al Black, regional director for University
of Missouri Extension, the consolidation of positions
is "nothing unusual."
Black also stated that he is "unaware at this time"
of any further changes planned for employee or specialist
positions at the Platte County Extension office.
"As far as the university is concerned," Black
said, "our position is we're going to work with all
the staff to put them in the best possible place."
The local Extension office is a jointly-funded project
between the university and the county.
