Five
persons to be inducted into Pirate Hall of Fame

The Platte County Pirate Hall of Fame
announces the Hall of Fame class of 2001. The Hall of
Fame induction ceremony will be held on Friday, Sept 28
prior to the Chillicothe football game at the Platte County
R-3 Stadium.
Balloting for the Hall of Fame was recently completed
and the following individuals were selected:
Jerre Blankenship-A graduate of Platte County R-3, Jerre
was a two sport letterman in high school and is an ardent
supporter of Pirate athletics.
David R. Clevenger-The late Mr. Clevenger was an attorney
and civic leader in Platte County. He served the Platte
City School Board as president for 17 years.
J. Michael Hartegan-Mike served on the Platte County
R-3 School Board for 15 years as member and president.
He was also activie with Booster club and other school
groups.
Loneta Wilson Schmollinger-Mrs. Schmollinger, a graduate
of Platte County High School, played basketball as a student
and has kept score for countless basketball games since
1975.
Bill Williams-Bill has kept the clock and scoreboard
for Pirate football games since 1970. He also served as
Platte City alderman and mayor pro tem.
This will mark the third year the Pirate Hall of Fame
will induct new members.
Current members of that Hall of Fame are: Howard Brazelton
(2000), Jack Coots (2000), David Fisher (1999), Richard
Foster (1999), Tom Morgan (1999), Grundy Newton (2000),
Jack Swaney (1999), Scotty Williams (2000), the late Ralph
Wittmeyer (1999) and Jay B. Wilson, Jr. (2000).
