Scam artist strikes local business

by Kim Fickett
Landmark reporter

The Platte City Police Department have released a flyer to area businesses regarding a quick change scam in the area.

A quick change suspect entered a Platte City business on April 13 using a $50 bill to scam money from the business.

According to Bill Massock, Platte City police chief, the suspect is a black male about 40-years-old with glasses, 6'0" and 150 pounds, driving a 4-door baby blue Cadillac with tinted windows and chrome wire wheels.

Massock stated he is unaware of how many incidents have taken place in Platte City, but area businesses should be on the lookout for the suspect and this scam.

If anyone sees the subject or knows the identity of the individual, they are asked to contact the Platte City Police Department at (816) 858-5150.
