Landmark's
annual bracket contest ready
Prize money and pride are on the line in The Landmark's
annual NCAA basketball tournament bracket contest. Prize
money this year is $50 to the winner. Entry is free and
limited to one entry per person.
The field of 64 teams will be announced on Sunday, March
10. To enter, fill out a copy of the bracket (clip one
out of the daily papers, pull one off the Internet, or
simply make your own legible copy) predicting winners
for every tourney game. As a potential tiebreaker, predict
the total points scored in the championship game.
There are several ways to get your entry to us. The most
popular way has been by fax to 816-858-2313. Entries can
also be emailed to ifoley@aol.com, mailed to The Landmark,
PO Box 410, Platte City, Mo. 64079, or brought to The
Landmark office at 252 Main Street, Platte City.
Entries are due by 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14. This
part is very important: Be sure to put your name and phone
number on your entry. If you'd like emailed updates on
the standings of the contest as the tournament progresses,
put your email address on your entry.
Those who enter will be able to test their prognosticating
skills against Landmark columnists Greg Hall, CK Rairden
and Ivan Foley.
The Landmark's scoring system works this way: One point
is given for each correct first round pick, two points
for a correct second round pick, three for a third rounder,
etc.
