Holden
files for
R-3 school
board

Four candidates have filed for three open positions on the Platte County R-3 School Board.

Kirby Holden, a patron who has raised questions about school issues like test scores and spending priorities in recent months, filed Tuesday on the final day for candidates to place their names on the ballot.

Holden will join incumbents Julie Vanover, Sharon Sherwood and Lenora Miles on the R-3 ballot in April.

Each of the three spots carries a three year term.

Meanwhile at West Platte, candidates who filed are: Shane E. Bartee, Aaron Johnson, Antonio Cutolo-Ring, Ron Rowe, Edward A. “Boogie” Kline, Leonard P. Brown, and Corry Holmes.

At Park Hill School District, there are five candidates for three open spots. The candidates are Boon Lee (incumbent), Lathen Scott, Janice Bolen (incumbent), Bart J. Klein, and David Blackburn.

Chris Seufert has chosen not to seek reelection.

At North Platte, four candidates filed for three open spots. The candidates include current board members Bill Matney, George Hoeffner, and Michele Paden-Livengood, as well as new comer Bennett French.
