Luggage allegedly filled with marijuana was hauled out of the Super 8 Motel in Platte City on Tuesday afternoon by authorities with the Platte County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol.
One arrest was made but no charges had been filed as of Landmark deadline.
TV footage of the seizure on KCTV-5 showed the amount of marijuana was so vast, investigators needed a luggage cart to haul it away from the Super 8 near Northwest Prairie View Road and Higgins Road.
Authorities were working from a tip received during the course of a car stop along Interstate 29. Authorities conducted the seizure at the motel about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
It was not immediately clear whether the marijuana was being trafficked in or out of the state.
