In Platte City Board of Aldermen business Tuesday night, a resolution terminating a deal with Rose-Lan Contractors was unanimously approved.
City Administrator Jason Metten said later that Rose-Lan had abandoned the North Trunk Interceptor Line Replacement project after a dispute with the city over whether unexpected clay conditions constituted grounds for increasing the price of the original bid.
Metten said that the process to find another contractor to complete the job will begin once the city has officially completed the contract termination process. Metten also said that while there is not an official legal dispute in the works at this point, the city does have some claims against Rose-Lan.
