It’s a Christmas-themed community gathering, Landmark style, and you’re invited.
Add Hearne Christopher, who penned the best-read column in the Kansas City Star until being let go in the paper’s latest round of labor cutbacks, to the list of special guests who will be on hand when The Landmark Newspaper hosts its annual open-to-the-public Christmas party.
Christopher’s column was a popular staple in the Star’s FYI section for many years.
The party is set for Friday, Dec. 12 from 4-8 p.m. at the Comfort Inn, 1201 Hwy. 92 in Platte City. The gathering will be held in the hotel’s conference room/breakfast area.
Some of the other special guests will include Chris Stigall, widely-acclaimed conservative talk radio personality for KCMO 710 AM, and Todd Graves, former U.S. Attorney. Many other local elected officials and other dignitaries will also be on hand.
The entire Landmark staff will host the event and will be on hand to meet and greet readers, as will columnists such as Brian Kubicki, Russ Purvis and James Thomas, as well as popular former sports media columnist Greg Hall. Also present will be Bill Hankins, contributing photojournalist for The Landmark, who was recently inducted into the Missouri Photojournalism Hall of Fame.
The Landmark will furnish Smokebox BBQ items, appetizers and popular beverages throughout the evening.
