The North Platte R-1 School District will be delaying the start of school from Tuesday, August 19 until Monday, Aug. 25 due to water damage that has occured in the junior high library and adjacent junior high classrooms. The restoration and detailing of the respective areas will be handled by a professional restoration company. Although this delay will affect the start of school the district wants to ensure the students, faculty, and staff are safe.
Orientation for the 7 and 8 grades will be moved to Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. The freshman orientation will remain on Monday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. The 4 grade orientation will still be held on Monday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Intermediate school.
