An accident involving a four-wheeler left a Kansas City woman dead and a Camden Point woman injured on Saturday.
According to the Platte County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred around 8:14 a.m. on Saturday when a 2006 Kawasaki all-terrain vehicle, driven by Cassie L. Parson, 25, of Kansas City, was traveling north on Algiers Road near Camden Point.
The ATV hit a rut along the east side of the roadway, which caused the ATV to overturn an unknown number of times, throwing both the driver and passenger.
The passenger on the vehicle was Christina Sheets, 19, of Camden Point.
Parson was taken by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital, where she later died. Sheets was taken to Liberty Hospital by ambulance. Sheets' injuries were not immediately known at press time.
Neither woman was wearing a helmet, authorities said.
