A Kearney man was killed in a two-car accident near Tracy on Friday morning at about 5:50 a.m.

Scott R. Halley, 47, was killed in the crash, which occurred as he was driving westbound on Hwy. 273 about 1.6 miles west of Tracy. He lost control of his vehicle, which turned sideways and proceeded into the oncoming lane where it collided with a second vehicle. That vehicle was driven by Jeffery J. Nunn, 50, of Rushville. Nunn's vehicle was eastbound. The initial point of impact on Halley's 2001 Saturn was centered on the passenger side, while the point of impact on Nunn's 2003 Saturn was centered on the front end.

Both men were wearing seat belts and airbags deployed on both cars.

Nunn received non-life threatening injuries.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.
