As an objective for the Platte City Board of Aldermen's
fiscal year 2002, the board received three quotes from
companies to provide shirts and pants for public works
department employees.
The board budgeted $5.61 per person per week. Aramark
came in with the lowest bid at $4.60 for shirts and pants
per person per week.
Due to the money left from the board of aldermen's earlier
budgeting, the board approved the additional $.50 for
jackets per person per week. The total cost of the uniforms
still came in under budget, at $5.10.
The uniforms are a voluntary service for public works
employees. The new uniforms should be ready for the department
around the first of the year.
At its meeting last week, aldermen also approved a $25
fee for insufficient funds checks. The charge went into
effect immediately.
City Administrator Keith Moody announced to the board
that interviews for candidates for the position of public
works superintendent would be this Friday.
The city's parks department reported they are looking
at a consultant to aid with their master plan.
